The short version

Your clipboard is the most sensitive data stream on your Mac. PasteMyClip is built so we never see it: your clipboard history is stored locally on your Mac and, if you enable sync, in your own private iCloud. We operate no servers, require no account, and collect no data from the app.

What the app stores

Clipboard items you copy (text, images, file paths), the app they came from, timestamps, and any pins or labels you assign. All of it lives in the app's sandboxed container on your Mac. With iCloud sync enabled, Apple's CloudKit mirrors it between your Macs inside your personal iCloud account — end-to-end within Apple's infrastructure, inaccessible to us.

What the app deliberately ignores

Content that password managers and other apps mark as transient or concealed (the standard org.nspasteboard conventions) is never recorded. You can also pause capturing entirely at any time from the shelf menu.

What we collect

From the app: nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no phoning home. This website uses standard analytics to count visits, and purchases are processed by our payment provider (Polar), which handles your payment details under its own privacy policy — we receive only your email address to deliver your license.

Data deletion

Delete items in the app, or delete the app's container to remove everything locally. Disabling iCloud sync and deleting the app's iCloud data from System Settings removes synced copies. There is nothing to delete on our side, because we never had it.
